$850,000: Claimant v. Rideshare Company

Claimant was a 37 year old part-time rideshare driver attempting to make a u-turn on a one-lane roadway. At the same time, a young driver entered into oncoming traffic on the Claimant's left and collided into him causing severe and permanent injuries. Claimant had severe pre-existing conditions in his lumbar spine. After the collision, Claimant was forced to have emergency lumbar spine surgery 40 days after the collision. On the eve of Arbitration, the parties settled for $750,000.00 to resolve the matter bringing the total award to $850,000.00 from the collision.
